FASZINATION DES GEGENSÄTZLICHEN
3 schwere Acrylglasplatten, eine massive M36 Schraubverbindung, 11,5 kg Gewicht - und mittendrin eine hauchdünne, leuchtende Folie. Das sind die Zutaten des faszinierenden Lichtobjektes „Paperweight Light“. Bei einer Kantenlänge von 30 cm und einer Tiefe von 9,2 cm entstehen je nach Standpunkt des Betrachters immer neue Lichtbrechungen und Spiegelungen, die durch das Leuchten der Folie verstärkt werden. Eine geheimnisvolle lumineszente Aura umgibt das Objekt, und die Leichtigkeit der beidseitig homogen leuchtenden Folie im Gegensatz zur Massivität assoziiert geometrische Stabilität und einen unverrückbaren Standpunkt.
3 heavy Lucite® plates, a massive M36 coupling nut, a net weight of 11,5 kg – and a wafer-thin, luminous foil in the middle. These are the components of the fascinating luminary “Paperweight Light”. Depending on the position of the observer, the device (30 cm edge length and 9,2 cm depth) reveals ever-changing refractions and reflections that are enhanced by the luminosity of the foil. A mysterious luminous aura surrounds the object; as for the lightness of the double-faced, evenly glowing foil, it merges geometrical stability with an unshakeable presence. Leave a Reply
